DIY: Old -to- New Bangles

I was going through my old jewelry box and came across some metal bangles that were in need for help! I'm sure everyone has a few outdated bangles in our drawers. Instead of throwing them away here is a fun DIY to make them wearable again!

(before)

Item list:
1. Old bangles
2. Assorted Colored Nail Polish
3. Clear Nail Polish
4. Paper
5. Tape

First Step: Tape down the bangle to the paper so that it stands up (shown in first photo).

Second Step: Pick any color nail polish you desire ( I chose summer colors because I love wearing bangles during the summer!).

Third Step: Paint! Make sure to make straight brushstrokes. After it has dried you can add a clear top coat to make sure it lasts.

Fourth Step: Repeat!

DIY: All About Mint!

I recently moved and got a home office. Picking the colors of the walls was easy, I knew I wanted a specific mint shade. After laying down all the white on white furniture I realized I need a few details to match my wall! I had paint left over from the wall so I decided to use it.

DIY #2: Curtain Clips

I went to a local store and found these really cute clips for the curtains in the office, the problem was they were black! So I bought them and painted them to match my office. When buying things to paint you have to make sure the surface of the object is one that will not work against the paint. These clips were a very soft matte surface, not glossy at all, so I knew they would paint well.

DIY #2: Heart Keepsake Box

While strolling around a local craft store, I spotted a really cute heart shaped box. This box is meant for painting so it was perfect for a new addition to my mint office details! You can find one similar at stores such as Jo-Ann's, and Michaels.

DIY #3: Shell Accents

I really love the beach, so while snorkeling there one weekend I started finding really pretty shells. I found white ones perfect for the office and other ones perfect for painting!

After painting them I decided I needed a shallow plate to display them, I found this plate at Michaels craft store. Here is the result! It is a really nice plate to place on your desk, an end table or even shelves in the office.

DIY #4: The Welcome sign

Saved the best for last! My mint office sign!
Materials: 1) Wood Board 2) Pencil 3) Ruler 4) Drill 5) Thick String 6) Small Paint Brushes

I started out with a plain wood board (you can purchase at any craft store or Home Depot/ Lowes)
and painted it mint. Next, measure the board side to side and find the center length to make to holes. Then loop the string through and tie at ends.

After that, sketch with a pencil whatever you would like your sign to read. I used Hello because I'm going to hang it on the door. Also, remember you can paint another word on the other side for variety.
Start to paint the sketch in a color of your choice, I used white to match other details in my office.

The Finished Product!

Hope you enjoyed this DIY office post! I will be doing more DIY posts soon :)
Thanks for reading!
